Leslie Perkins lives in Newport Beach, California. She is currently the Youth Choirs Conductor’s Assistant for Millennial® Choirs & Orchestras California. Leslie has been singing with MCO since 2023.
Leslie holds a master of music degree in vocal performance from California State University Northridge and a bachelor of music degree in vocal performance from Southern Utah University, where she studied with Shigemi Matsumoto and Carol Ann Modesitt, respectively. During her time at CSUN and SUU, she performed a number of large-scale choral works, such as Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, Handel’s Messiah, Rutter’s Requiem, and Chichester Psalms by Leonard Bernstein. She performed in many operas, including the roles of Angelica in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, Eurydice in Offenbach’s Orphée aux enfers, Romilda in Handel’s Serse, and Meg March in Adamo’s Little Women.
Leslie is also a passionate vocal teacher. She teaches at Glee Music Academy as well as maintaining her private studio. Leslie loves guiding students of all ages through the joys of music and especially values the opportunity to foster musical abilities in children and youth.
